A PROJECT THAT pollinates EDUCATION AND NATURE IN OUR CITIES

Bees are popularly known for making honey. But, according to IBOPE, 78% of our population is unaware of the fact that bees are the main pollinators for 85% the green areas present in forests and cities.

Other relevant data: people remember because bees sting, but unaware of the fact that Brazil is home to the greatest biodiversity of bee species on the planet, and that this mega-diversity is made up of native stingless bees.

The project aims to guide the public administration to adopt practices aimed at caring for the environment, with environmental education and sustainability from the preservation of its most important pollinators: bees.

The project brings 5 main objectives:

1- Expand knowledge and educate the population about the importance of bees;

2- Engage public organizations in awareness and protection of pollinators;

3- Support the government with management practices that preserve pollinators in urban areas, and his good relations with the population;

4- Recognize oriented administrations to preserve, improvement and restoration of the environment;

5- Generate a favorable environment for the growth and expansion of the creation of stingless bees in the city;

Some of the approaches set out by the City Project Amiga bees come:

The project comprises a total of 18 topics, some being mandatory for the city to be awarded the title of "Friendly City of the Bees". Will be awarded Bronze seals, Silver and Gold, according to pre-established criteria and audited.
