UFJF researchers publish guide to Bees without Stinger
Researchers at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) published this week a very important guide to studies related to stingless bees!
The guide was produced from research conducted at the Institute of Biological Sciences at UFJF. It represents the diversity of stingless bees that inhabit the university's Botanical Garden, which has 82 hectares of preserved forest.
in addition to 14 species sampled by the work, some of their nests and plants visited by bees were also recorded.. The photographs are wonderful!
Although it only covers the area of the Botanical Garden, the guide represents a large part of the diversity of stingless bees recorded in Minas Gerais and contributes significantly to studies involving the diversity and conservation of these important pollinators.
The material was published by Field Guides-Field Museum, an initiative that is part of the Keller Science Center Conservation Program, located no Field Museum. On the website where the guide was published there are several other guides covering numerous types of organisms such as birds, fishes, other insects, bats, plants and even fungi! It is worth checking!
